Who is this fund intended to help?

Through the generosity of many donors a fund has been created to help employers provide immediate relief to those they have had to lay off or employees that have had a work disruption e.g., in quarantine, caregiving for sick or children out of school/daycare (due to the COVID-19 pandemic).

What help is being offered?

The fund will donate proceeds to the Partners in Mission Foodbank to facilitate the purchase of No Frills gift cards. One gift card of $100 will be made available to each verified employee who is nominated by their employer.

How are the gift cards distributed?

The process is initiated by employers. An employer must visit relief.kingstonfoodbank.ca and set up a profile. Then they must enter the contact information of employees they have had to lay off or employees that have had a work disruption e.g., in quarantine, caregiving for sick or children out of school/daycare (due to the COVID-19 pandemic).

Our system will then send an email to the employee in order to verify their contact information. Once verified, the system will provide a link to the No Frills Digital Gift Card, which can be retrieved directly on the President’s Choice Platform. No Frills is part of the President’s Choice group.

How do I use the gift card?

When you retrieve your digital gift card from President’s Choice, you will receive an email with the e-gift card to be redeemed in store. Each card is deployed with a barcode, pin and gift card number. You have the option to either print off your e-gift card or present the code on your mobile device.

The No Frills cashier can redeem the card by scanning the barcode from the printed copy, or on your mobile device and entering the pin provided on the card.

NOTE: In the event a gift card cannot be scanned, the cashier can manually enter the gift card details.

I have a lot of employees to add, can you help?

Yes! If you have more than 10 employees to add then we can handle the process for you, assuming that you can provide us with the contact information for each of these employees in a single file. You could accomplish this by exporting from your accounting or human resources software.
